  1. Here are some ideas that I've used in the past that go over very well:

    1.  Spinach Dip in Bread Bowl:  The recipe on the Knorr dry vege soup mix is great!

    2.  Cheese Platter:  Arrange on a lovely platter several cheeses, such as Manchega, Brie, Gouda, Cheddar etc. with crisp green or red grapes.  Serve with artisan crackers.

    3.  Bacon Cream Cheese Pinwheels:  Take 1 can large Pillsbury Crescent Rolls.  Form triangles into a large rectangle.  Saute 5 slices bacon, drain well and crumble into 1 8 oz package of cream cheese, 3 T chopped chives or green onion, 1/3 package dry vege soup mix.  Mix well and spread over crescent dough.  Roll up jelly roll style and score in 8 - 10 places.  Bake at 350 degrees until puffed and golden.  Cut into slices and serve.

    4.  Peppered salami spread with cream cheese and wrapped around a small cornichon, secured with toothpicks.

    5.  Asparagas, ends trimmed, cooked crisp tender and wrapped with prosciutto.

    6.  Chili Cheese Dip:  1 8 oz package cream cheese, softened; 1 can chunky chili; 1 small can sliced black olives; 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese; sour cream and salsa to garnish.  Spread cream cheese in bottom of pie plate, top with chili and cheddar cheese, top with black olives and microwave until bubbling.  Serve with salsa and sour cream and corn chips.

    7.  Hot Artichoke and Crab Dip:  2 cans artichoke hearts, drained and coarsely chopped: 1 4 oz can diced green chili's;

1 cup crab meat; 3/4 cup mayonaise; 1 T lemon juice; 1 tsp hot sauce; 2 cups shredded parmesan cheese.  Mix the above and place in baking dish.  Bake at 350 degrees until bubbling and golden.  Serve with blue corn tortilla chips or artisan crackers.

    8.  Shrimp salad in endive leaves

    9.  Platter of large shrimp on ice with lemon wedges and cocktail sauce.

    10.  Mushrooms stuffed with pesto and cheese, baked until tender and cheese has melted.

  3. CRESCENT VEGGIE APPETIZERS

    Ingredients

•2 8-oz cans of Pillsbury refrigerated crescent rolls

•1 8-oz package cream cheese, softened

    •½ cup sour cream

    •1/8 teaspoon garlic powder

•3 cups chopped assorted fresh veggies (bell pepper, broccoli, carrot, cucumber, green onions)

    Directions

1.Removed dough from cans in rolled sections; (2 sections from each can) do NOT unroll.  Cut each section into 8 slices (16 slices from each can).

2.Place slices cut side down on ungreased baking sheet to form trees.  To form trees, start by placing 1 slice on top with 2 slices below it, sides touching.  Continue arranging a row of 3 slices, then a row of 4 slices, ending with a row of 5 slices.  Use remaining slice for the trunk.  Refrigerate 1 tray.

3.Bake one tree at 375* for 11 to 13 minutes or until golden brown.  Cool 1 minute; carefully loosen with spatula and slide onto wire rack to cool.  Bake and cool second tree.

4.Place each tree on a platter.  In small bowl, combine cream cheese, sour cream, and garlic powder; blend until smooth.  Place in a zip lock bag and snip a medium size hole in the bottom.  Spiral onto each roll.  Decorate the trees with assorted veggie pieces.

5.Cover and refrigerate until serving time.  To serve, just pull apart the slices of the tree.

*You may make any pattern with the slices you desire.
