I have an eastlink DVR cable box and there is a outlet on it for a smart card... what is it for?

  1. If it's a Motorola cablebox then it would be similar to the one StarChoice used. They also had a smart card port which was unused , but there for future use in case hacking became an issue with their receivers, then they would resort to using  this method.
