Easy, cheap way to get rid of weeds in stone driveway?

We have a long stone driveway and every year it gets covered with weeds and grasses. I have used Roundup but it gets expensive and the weeds grow back. What is an easier, cheaper way? I have read about flame weeders, and it may be an option. I have also heard about using hot water or bleach. Or even spreading black plastic. What is the easiest, best option?

  1. the best way would be finding a way to fill in the cracks. Im not sure what your driveway is like, but you might want to spread some sand or something.  i would spray roundup or something to kill them, pull them all out. then dump some sand out, use a push broom or something to work it into all the cracks.

  2. Hoe.  Get 'em while they're young.

  3. Water and bleach.

Boiling salt water. (1 cup of salt to a gallon of water)

Works great on my brick sidewalk.

  4. blast with undiluted white vinegar on a fine hot day, no wind, follow 2 days later. also a strong solution of baking soda also helps, and thay's not all , pure salt followed by boiling water

  5. Your problem is really the wind.  You can kill all the weeds you want, but new seeds are there in 10 seconds.  Kill the weeds with Roundup, then spread a pre-emergent, like Preen. Repeat every 6 months.
