i have a 2 year old dell computer. today i noticed that it got really loud. what is this and how can i fix this.

Chances are the fan in the case is broken. Try to find which fan is causing the noise, and buy a new one. Make sure you buy the correct size fan.

open the cage and clean it up from the inside its just dust covering the fans which the need to work a lil harder to get he job done

clean up fans ..replace cooling fans ..power supply

If it got really loud, it is probably the fan. The fan runs very high if there is a process that is making the processor work very hard or if you have a lot going on with the computer. next time it runs loud make a note of what programs you have open and use that to determine what is making it run loud.

You need to be more specific as to the noise. I would imagine that what you hear is fan noise caused by dust. Take it apart and use a can of air on it.

if it's fans then maybe the proc is overheating. Or it could be simply that dust is cloging the processor's heat sink fan combo. This would cause the proc to overheat...making fans spin louder...this could also be tru for any fans in the pc.
