i have to do a report on an olympic athelete (an amazing story about them), an i do not keep track of the olympics at all. i tried look up olympic stories, but nothing came up. could some one give me a link to a site that has a biography of an athelete or somethin? (no really g*y sports like pingpong or sumthin plz)

Do Michael Phelphs, he just got 8 gold medals which is the record for one Olympic game.

Dara Torres, Michael Phelps (but you might want to avoid him since everyone will be writing their report about him since he just broke the world record), as well as Tyson g*y and Kelly Holmes.

I'm sorry---I do not have any links, but it would be interesting to do a report on Jessie Owens from the 1936 (I think) summer Olympics in Berlin.  This was when Hitler was chancellor of Germany and he wanted the Olympics to display the superiority of his Aryan race over other races, particularly Jews and Blacks.  Owens, a black track runner from the US, made a sweep of the gold medals and angered Hitler immensely......another interesting one would be Johnny Weissmuller from the 30's.  I believe he was sickly as a child, but took up swimming and he ended up being the Mark Spitz (or today, Michael Phelps!) of his day.  As you probably know, he went to Hollywood and was the most famous Tarzan who ever played the role, excelling in the underwater swim scenes (which were shot in Florida), the fight scenes with the giant crocodiles, etc.  Other interesting Olympic athletes I can think of are Olga Corbett, the 14-yr. old Rumanian gymnest who was a phenomenon of her day (she had a sad life in Rumania after that), Dorothy Hammill, the figure skater, Sonja Hennji (not sure of this spelling), a very early figure skater who went on to stardom in the movies, Michael Jordan (we all know about him), Mark Spitz.....there are so many.....good luck, and you will enjoy this assignment, I'm sure!
