I love macaroni and cheese from KD and for some reason today I just feel like making the real stuff. They're so many recipes and they're all casseroles so I was wondering if you could give me a normal and fairly easy non-casserole macaroni and cheese recipe. Please help me out here, thanks in advance!

  1. this is super easy!  boil your choice of noodles, then add butter, milk and as many kraft cheese singles as you want.  You will be able to tell when you have as many as you need......super easy and really great and most people have the stuff to make it.  I thought it was pretty scarey the first time my MIL made it, but I loved it!!

  7. I make this from scratch all the time and my husband loves it.....

    Mac and Cheese

1 cup macaroni noodles cooked (any brand will work)

4 to 8 cups of colby jack cheese (pre shredded works great)

    3 tablespoons butter

    1 teaspoon salt

    2 tablespoons of flour

1/2 to 1 cup milk or half n half ( you can used condensed milk if you need to)

a casserole dish that is 9 x 11 or 13 really any one that is about 2" deep

    first I cook the noodles

In a med size soup pot melt the butter on med low heat until it bubbles

then turn the heat to med add your flour to the melted butter along with the salt stir until the flour has soaked up all the butter then add your milk stir until mixed really well. then add half of the cheese to the pot stir until creamy and melted (you may have to add 1/4 to 1/2 cup of milk to it to help it cream)

(I use a wisk while making the cheese sauce)

once the butter flour and cheese is melted and mixed well pour over cooked macaroni noodles. ( don't forget to pray non stick cooking pray to your dish before you add the noodles)

then top with the rest of the shredded cheese

put in oven long enough just to have the top chesse melted (8-10 mins or so) on 350

    enjoy:)

  8. Mine is a family favorite and pretty simple.

Boil and drain to your desired firmness the pasta shape of choice, I use elbows or small shells usually.

Make a roux with 2 tablespoons of butter and 2 tablespoons of flour over medium heat.  Adjust each as needed until you have a fairly thick paste but it is easily stirred.  I use a whisk for the entire sauce process.  Add 2 cups of whole milk and whisk frequently to keep milk from burning.  Milk will thicken, then season with salt and pepper.  Add 2-3 cups of shredded cheddar or cheddar/colby combo cheese.  Whisk constantly and adjust cheese until your desired thickness.   Pour cheese over pasta and stir to combine.

My family usually eats it creamy like this without baking.  My husband likes a bit of marinara sauce or diced tomato stirred in.

Sometimes I do bake it in a greased casserole dish.  Topped with buttered bread crumbs and some additional cheese.  20 minutes at 350 should do it.
