  1. Just get blue balloons and streamers.

Use the cake for your centerpiece, surrounded by candles and confetti on the table.

If mom is bottle feeding, use bottle lids for napkin rings (give to mom when done)

Hang a string (clothes line) across the room or a window and hang up real or paper clothes.

    Rubber duckies everywhere

  2. Well, don't know of any home made decor, but if there is a Dollar Tree in your area, you can go there and get some really cute baby shower items and everything's a $1...I've thrown like 3 baby showers this year and each time I've gone to Dollar Tree and spent under $10 for decor and probably a total of like $20 or $30 when you add food/gifts for guests.

Just wanted to add...when I say decor I mean like paper plates, cups, tabletcloth, banner, etc...and it's specifically for a baby shower.

  3. I liked the clothes line idea.

I can't think of any homemade decor though. The only thing that I can think of is what was done at my baby shower. My friend had some special stationary and she "wrote" a letter from my baby. It was thanking everyone for coming and he would see them soon. It was very cute. She wrote the letter on the computer and printed on the stationary. I couldn't find one like it online, so...

    To whom it may concern,

Well, to begin with, "my proud mommy" is __________ and I am __________. I am due to arrive ________. To all my dear friends and family who have chosen to come to my baby shower, I am very grateful for all the nice gifts you have brought me. I only have time for a short little note of thanks, because you see I am very busy getting ready for the big day I come to see my mommy. They are painting my cheeks and fixing my hair and giving me all the essentials I'll need, so when I arrive I will be all together and my mommy can dress me in all the nice things you have brought me, and if I can't wear it; I know I'll be able to use it.

    Thank you so much,

    _____________

    &

    Mommy

I did discover that online there are many printable games, etc that you can do from home. Main thing is paper plates, napkins, drinks, and cake. I know you want it to be special, but everyone is there for Mom and will hardly notice decorations (unless they are outstanding)

  4. I used a cord and made a clothes line and then hung all the outfits that I was giving the baby on the line as part of the decor. She loved it and thought it was very original. You could also try to make one of those "diaper cakes" as a center piece. Hope that helped some! I am sure she will be appreciative of anything you do! Hard not to worry when you are the hostess though... Good Luck!
