  1. Neon Tetras, with Corydoras to clean the bottom of the tank with Zebra Danios and X -Ray Tetras! ( 6 Neons, 4 Corydoras,6 Zebras, and 6 X-Rays!) Hope this helped! Good Luck and Have fun with your fishies!!! XD

  2. If your tank is set up for tropical fish, heater, filtration etc. and your looking for some excitement i recommend tiger barbs. you can get them in several color variations and they are like little piranha's at dinner time. I have 7 of them  2 albino's and 3 red tail tinfoils and they are all really fun to watch. as always you should read up on any type of fish you keep as much as possible.... good luck and happy fish keeping .

  3. If you're talking about the same amount of care as a betta, there's nothing out there.

Mostly because- "Bettas don't need filters, heaters, bubblers and space to swim!" which is the appeal. And it's sad because they do need all of them to be active and not "boring".

Tetras are small fish, live in groups and are fairly easy to maintain, or so I've heard. Try minnows too, they're very hardy fish.

  4. danios 6+ groups

white cloud mountain minnows 6+ groups

    corydoras 3+ groups

  5. tetra fish and algae eater fish

  6. Tetras, Guppies, Mollies. They're all easy to keep.

  7. heres what you should get depending on the tank size.

    2.5 gallon

    -3-4 neon tetras

    -1-2 snails

    5 gallon

    -2 guppies

    -2 mollies

    -2 platys

    -2 snails

    10 gallon

    -3 snails

    -6 neon tetras

    -2 guppies

    -2 platys

    -4 mollies

    -2 upside down catfish.

    20 gallon

    -4 snails

    -10 neon tetras

    -4 guppies

    -4 platys

    -4 mollies

-3 or 4 upside down catfish

    -TIPS

-guppies and snails reproduce a lot

-fish get sucked into filters if they are weak

    -these fish are all hardy.

  8. I like gold fish

  9. Beta fish are far from boring. I'd say they are probably the best to keep and are quite beautiful.

But some obvious choices are Goldfish since they are pretty social and are all-around nice to look at. I also like to put some small catfish in there as they tend clean out the algae...or probably a few snails!

  10. guppies =] you carnt go wrong

  11. Almost any kind of tetra including the well known neon or cardinal tetra. Very pretty and easy. Any other tetra should be in groups and generally do very well with eachother.

Guppies like to have more than one in their group. If you get a female, watch out for the babies. They will either get eaten almost immediately after birth or will crowd the tank.

Barbs are great but beware of the tiger barb. They are fin nippers and do not go well with fish with delicate or long fins such as guppies or bettas. They do well though in groups of 6 or more. Most other barbs are great community fish though.

Mollies get pretty big so I don't reccomend those but balloon bellied mollies are awesome! I have those in my community tank and they are so funny! They follow your finger and nibble on the algae in the tank, keeping it a bit cleaner and nicer looking.

White Cloud Mountain Minnows are some of the best fish out there especially for beginners. They don't require a heater (which is why they shouldn't be in heated, tropical aquariums) but can be kept with almost any other coldwater fish.

Corydoras are nice and eat the algae off the bottom of the tank! They are great fish even with the infamous betta! They make wonderfull additions to almost any tank. They generally keep to themselves and come in many different colors and even upside down! The upside down catfish remains upside down for most of it's life, cleaning the algae off the bottom of tank equipment and decor.

I don't reccomend snails unless you get just one because if they lay eggs, they can overpopulate the tank! They do, however, clean the algae off the sides of the tank which is always helpful.

African dwarf frogs are fun to have because they like at least 3 and are just plain funny! They do well with any non-agressive fish (basicly everything I listed above) and live completely underwater their whole life!

    Good luck and have fun!

  12. catfish, mollies
