Can anyone list houseplants that are similar to Wandering Jew and Spider Plants in the way they can be propagated and easily cared for?

  1. The hardiest indoor plant I know of is a Pothos plant, another is philodendron plant.  The Pothos come in green or variegated leaves while the philodendron is green with no other coloration. You can propagate and make the plant bushier by cutting. And last but not the least is the english ivy.

Here is a picture of a variegated Pothos:

  2. A nice ‘hanging’ ivy plant is sweet potato. You can either use the ones you buy in the supermarket or buy an ornamental annual sweet potato vine which comes with either a light green leaf or a dark reddish-purple leaf. The supermarket sweet potato will have a light green leaf.

But both plants grow fairly quickly and are attractive. If you pinch the tips each time there is about 4 to 6 inches of growth, they will get very full.

  3. Ivy!  That's all i know.  I always manage to kill plants, except for my ivy!  Also a flower that's easy to care for is the African Violet.
