Easy-off oven cleaner+ oven on? help!?

Okay, my mom put easy off in the oven earlier, without me thinking much of it. When my little brother asked to make pizza I didn't think anything of it. Untill I smelled something weird only to find out there is smoke coming out of the oven. I turned it off and open a window and put a fan in the kitchen. I read the directions and it says several times "do not turn on oven." Well, yeah. Did I mess up the oven? Please help!

Well your still alive.The warning is so you won't breathe the fumes,since the lye in oven cleaners is toxic. So open all windows/wipe out whatever is left in the oven then turn the oven on to burn off the residue and leave the room for a while.Oh and don't eat the pizza.

no you did not. most oven s have a self cleaning mode that you can use in normal situations. but what I would advise is for you to wipe down the entire inside of the oven and then use the self cleaning mode. It will smoke just a little and when it is done you should see a white film residue here and ther and then just wipe that off and you are good to go.
