Easy question about car audio...?

Ok this might sound stupid, but what makes the actual bass sound that vibrates in your car? Is it the subwoofer or the amp or what? I don't understand any of this please help!

  1. wat it is is both the amp and the woofers because the amp sends the sounds to the woofer and the woofer then moves air back and forth producing bass and i think 1 10" would be fine for ur toyota but if u really want to crank it i would go with the 12" mtx thunder series 5500 u will have plenty there but get an amp at least 1000watts :)


  2. The subwoofer makes the sound but you have to have  A box and an amp to make it all work.

    the amp has a crossover built into it which filters all the frequencies sent to it and it only sends out the low (bass) frequencies to the subs

    and the sub is a speaker that is designed to play low notes as well and when you add in the sub's box bass is the outcome
