No, because they will have for example the fence, if wooden, to scratch, the tree bark, and other things.

Outside cats don't need too, much, because they roam, and find the essential stuff they want to play with, or need... But you ALWAYS need to provide the cat with fresh cold water and food. Leave it out for the cat to find it.

Make sure your cat has a collar, microchip, and vaccinations, so they don't get sick, like for example, rabies. Make sure it has a place to stay like a little 'cat house', so if it rains, your cat can go there.

Make sure to leave your cat flap unlocked, or unblocked, so the cat can come in if it wants.

Also, if it's possible, make sure to put cream or powder in the cats coat to prevent bites from fleas, ticks, and misquitos. (You could also give baths)

Make sure your backyard/frontyard is fenced so that animals can't come in to hurt your cat, and so your cat doesn't wander on the street where there are cars...

there is no such thing as an outside cat. cats are domesticated, not wild animals.

my two are indoor/outdoor and they dont have a scratching post. mostly they use my firewood.

outside cats really done need much but food water, yearly Vet visits, flea meds. The basics is all an outside cat needs.

But its much safer to have a indoor cat.
