I am thinking of purchasing a Toshiba DR410 1080p Upconverting Tunerless DVD Recorder. Just a few questions I want to know the answer to:

Does it come with all of the required cables to hook it up to VCRs and DVRs?

How long does it last for?

How simple is it to set up and operate?

  1. The Toshiba recorder come with some basic cables, but, of course, not every cable possible since there are a huge set of possible cables you might want (for example a VGA computer cable to DVI digital video is not included).

How long it lasts is very hard to answer.  A reasonable expectation is 2 to 5 years I think, but it's partly random and also depends on how much you use it, how dirty your DVD's are, and how clean the electrical power is in your area.

I am not an expert on this model, but compared to other DVD recorders it is pretty simple.  A recorder has a lot more settings that a simple player, but once you get the basic settings the way you want them then making a recording is fairly easy.
