If you are patient and careful, yes. Start with a good beginner's book, like The New Complete Guide to Home Brewing by Papazian and follow directions. Remember that the three most important things in homebrewing are sanitation, sanitation, and (you guessed it)_ sanitation.

Making beer is silly easy.

Making good/great beer is definitely possible but will require a bit of practice much like anything else.
