  1. something i tried with my mare:

    bowing!

i got a big piece of carrot, showed it to her, put it in my hand, put my hand towards the floor, and then in between her front legs, so her head is almost touching the floor and her front legs are stretched forwards.

keep practicing this and soon he'll learn he can stretch more if he goes onto one leg, like this http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2071/2335...

    soon he'll be pro!

and remember, new tricks need treats!!

    good luck!

  2. You can entertain hr by buying some toys and teeaching her how to free jump.

  3. You can place some toys and put them in your horse's stall. Check out this website http://www.smartpakequine.com/ProductCom...

I know many horses who have a Jolly Ball(I dont own a horse....I ride a lot and am at the stables a lot though) and they seem to enjoy it.

You can teach them to bow. This website seems helpful http://www.ehow.com/how_2058719_teach-ho...

You can also do dressage with your horse. Lunge him or her over jumps.

You can also teach your horse to shake his head no or yes. I found this website, it has various links to tricks at the bottom of the page.

  5. teach him to give you kisses my mare does it ;) you just kiss there nose and give them a treat in the end they do it themselves and you reward with a treat i taught my mare lol you can teach them to count or to beg but with begging when you pick out there feet they can start to get a few problems lol get him a snack a ball and when he rolls it he cna get treats out of it there around 5 pounds in the uk i think check them out ;) you might have to show him how to use it 1st in the end he'll get the hang of it they love snack a balls keeps them entertained for ages or you could try a likit horses lvoe tehm keeps them entertained for ages sometiems they eat one in a whole day though lol.

  6. I taught my mare to shake hands.  I would pick up her foot and shake it back and forth a few times saying shake, then I would give her a treat.  She picked up on it fast, and now you just have to point at the leg you want her to shake.  My friends horse smiles, and another one shakes his head on command.

  7. I know it sounds naf but its really cute...all my horses now do it...GIVING KISSES!!!

You need to keep a phrase expecially for this like:

    'Kiss Kiss'

    'Giz a Kiss'

    'Kisses'

    I use 'Kiss Kiss'

To get them to know what to do...say this phrase as you hold a treat up next to your mouth.  They go for the treat, say the phrase again and give them the treat when their mouth is next to yours.  'Good Lad'.  This takes time but it's adorable!  It took my first horse 3 months and my others about 1.

You could also just try things in the arena/menage.  Things like weaving in and out of poles, giving their hoof (i taught 1 of mine this as it took ages and my others aren't as easy to train).  Use your imagination.  Whatever you do...make it fun for the horse.
