I have tons of video files I want to steam for my mother over the wireless network. So I'm looking for an easy to use program that she will be able to use. Shes fairly elderly and doesn't pick up on new programs very easily. So I'm looking for something easy to use. Like a program she can open and just see a handful of videos, browse thru them and pick the one she wants to watch. Again, the program has to be easy to use for her. Ill do all the setting up, but the "finding" and "playing" must be easy on her end.

I'll take any and all suggestions.

Also, just for fyi, I tried VLC but I wasn't really able to get her to use it. It made her head explode lol

thank you all ahead of time.

  1. In terms of easy interfaces, media centers and PVRs would make sense because their simplified menus can be used on TVs with remotes.

MythTV is very powerful, maybe a bit too complicated. Records TV and probably can be made to stream arbitrary videos.

    Or maybe Elisa media center.

Or use the video blog approach though a private channel on Miro.
