I chose Tulip Inn Amsterdam Centre but they have assigned me to Tulip Inn Amsterdam West (too far from the centre!!)

I have called customer services and they weren't much help so I need more info before I call again.

I need:

-Hotels in the centre that are cheap

-How to get them to swap the hotel for me

-Any experiences you have with this

Please help I am going from the 12th to 16th this month with my boyfriend. This is making me crazy!!

  1. If you booked a package through Easyjet then be careful if you book another hotel before you cancel the first.  Easyjet are great at offering cheap prices but notorious at not allowing cancellations (at least free ones anyway) and you could end up paying both hotel costs if you are not careful

You mention you called customer service but not of which company.

Firstly call the hotel you want directly and enquire (only) as a new customer if there are vacancies.  This way you are armed with info

Then call Easyjet customer service.  Be polite (don't get emotional even if it's hard!) but firm. - do you have any documents, emails etc where it states the hotel which you choose to support your arguement.  If so then they have not fulfilled the contract, and if being polite and friendly does not help then you can remind them of this.  Also you can inform them that you have personally checked and there are vacancies at the hotel you want

If this does not work then you can always give the Tulip Customer Service line a call.  They of course don't want unhappy customers either, so maybe they can arrange a transfer instead

If worst comes to worst (and you have proof that the seller is not meeting their contractual obligations) then contact the ombudsman in your country by phone and ask for support (not sure which country you are from?)

Just keep being persistant and above all, don't lose your temper.  Keep the control and keep rational arguements with which they cannot argue

Best of luck - I really hope it works out for you

  2. sue them

  3. If you can document that you chose that hotel, you should kindly but firmly request they arrange the right hotel for you. Otherwise, they have failed to uphold their end of the contract.

It is short term, so i don`t know if it can be fixed in time.

However, with public transport in Amsterdam as it is, it isn`t too bad, if you take a tram to the city center.

If you decide to accept, they should compensate you for the trouble at least.

If you have legal aid - inform with them what your options are.

Whatever happens - enjoy your stay.
