Eat at restaurant you work at?

i've been working at this place for like 2 weeks, would it be weird to order takeout and pick it up?

If you are wanting to eat food from the place that you work, that must mean that you trust that it will be good, and that you know the conditions are clean.

I say go for it!!

I know that it's nice to be proud of a restaurant in which you are employed, because I've seen the opposite far too often.

Certainly not weird.

As far as discounts go, that will vary from restaurant to restaurant.  When I was at Houston's Restaurant, I always got 50% comp'ed from my meal even if I visited during my off-time.  As noted earlier, this gives you the opportunity to try everything on the menu.  And, when you know how everything tastes and is prepared, you'll be better qualified to answer guests' questions about the food.  They'll almost always ask you for your opinion.

Additionally, managers sometimes take note of the dishes you try out.  They may even ask for your feedback, as it may be good information he or she may relay to the kitchen staff.

I don't think so at all.  My two granddaughters work at a local restaurant and we all eat there regularly.  In fact, the owner lives next door to me.  We know the place is cleaner than clean, and the food is outstanding.  There's absolutely no reason for us not to go there.  The girls order food from there often when they're not working.
