Question:

Eat when hungry, stop when satisfied?

sometimes i find myself just eating out of boredom. do you think that if i ate when i was hungry and stopped when the hunger was satisfied, i would lose weight ?

right now i'm 5'4'' 114lbs

  1. Yes you would. You will lose weight for sure. This idea is reflected in some books. The best I've read is "Breaking free from compulsive eating" by Geneen Roth. Get the book and read it. It will truly open up your eyes and heart and you WILL lose weight.

    But you seem to be at a pretty healthy weight.


  4. Yea they did a study and found that this is why most babies and kids are skinny. Thats why there are some kids who will actually stop eating a burger or ice cream; its because they actually listen to their stomach and stop eating when they are full. But in that study they also found that when we grow into adults we eat for different reasons than to just satisfy our hunger like boredom and because "it tastes good". So in short yes just stop eating when you are full and you won't gain weight...I know it sucks we can't eat just because it tastes good :P
