MORE cherry-picking?  Come on!

That was a curse pronounced on Israel if they disobeyed God.  Simple as that.  Try reading the rest of it, or put the Bible away and don't even bother reading it at all, because it's pretty obvious that all you're going to do is find verses that you believe support your opinions, and ignore the rest.
