  1. Cow's milk is not good for us! Especially pasteurized milk (heated at high temp) and homogenized. You can go to www.notmilk.com for specific details but check out this fast fact: in countries where milk is consumed most often, the rate of osteoporosis is the GREATEST!  What is going on, given that we supposedly need calcium to build our bones? Well, it turns out that when you heat the calcium (or get it from crushed rocks, like calcium carbonate), the body cannot use it. Also, milk has a high protein content, which means it is acidic and so the body must LEACH calcium from the bones to balance the acidity of the blood (calcium is an alkaline mineral). Cow's milk also has a high phosphorus ratio to the calcium, where nuts are a better ratio, not to mention green leafy veggies. Another problem is CASEIN, which is also used in many VEGAN CHEEZES, so watch out! It makes cheese so gluey and it very hard to break down and allergenic! God bless!

  2. Milk causes bad breath. I replace milk with low fat live yogurt, it has calcium and good bacteria. Soy milk is  also very healthy and has a lot of benefits.

  3. I don't think it's bad as long as the cow didn't suffer or was fed hormones to exploit the animal. Your own body chemistry will decide if it's good or bad. Asians tend to be more lactose intolerant than westerners so I would say milk is bad for them. This isn't a racist statement, it's pretty true. Culturing milk products can make it more digestible though and it can be perfectly good for you and you can live a long and healthy life.

Pros of being a vegan: you're supporting a lifestyle that tries to eliminate the possibility of suffering sentient life caused through your direct actions.

Cons: You can get a bit obsessive about reading labels and ensuring the products you eat and buy never harmed an animal. It's a radical approach and unless you grow your own food in completely hermetic environments you can't truly ensure that your actions hasn't caused harm to an animal. This is of course taking things to extremes and I don't think any vegan would be this extreme but I think the thoughts are in the right place.

  4. I'm a vegan myself and health wise, if you had milk products once a week I don't think it would be unheatlhy. However, consuming dairy on a regular basis isn't good for you because of the excessive and harmful horomones found in cow's milk.

That said, I'm vegan for moral reasons and wouldn't drink milk whether it was good for me or not. I think most unhealthy things are ok for you (health wise) if you only have them every great once in a while.

  5. Milk is a good source of calcium but a lot people are lactose intolerant, and many are not aware of it. Therefore many people have digestive problems which are created or exacerbated by drinking milk. You can buy calcium tablets and may find that your digestive system is a lot healthier if you stop drinking milk.

  6. The milk of cows is not meant to be drunk by humans.  Adult mammals are not supposed to drink milk.  Milk is a food for infants.

I am a vegan because dairy cows are hideously abused.  Check out Peta.com and watch some of their videos.  That will help you go vegan.  Also, in order to produce milk, cows have to have calves.  Boy calves become veal.  The dairy industry created and supports the veal industry.  The female calves are put into slavery like their mothers, producing milk for a gluttonous nation.  A dairy cow is a sad creature.  It isn't natural, it isn't ethical, it isn't right.

    Don't drink milk!

milk is bad cause its processed.

  8. If you're a baby cow, milk is good for you.  But I'm willing to guess you're not because cows don't use computers.

Like all mammals, cows must be pregnant to produce milk; she produces it for her baby.  However, in dairy facilities, the baby is taken from her within hours of birth.  Someone else already told you what happens to her babies, so I need not repeat it.  I will say it was the dairy-veal connection that made me stop using the stuff.

Properly planned, a vegan diet is quite healthy.  Just eat a variety of foods every day, and you should be fine.  It takes planning, label decoding, and a willingness to hassle restaurant servers sometimes to make sure your food is animal product-free, but it can be done.

  9. Good of course, calcium, vitamin d,all things a body needs, especially women,we need calcium to protect our bones from osteoporosis.

  10. milk is good in moderation

    and

veganism is a life shoice and you might want to read up on... b/c it is a big change and can be very risky if you don't know where to get certain vitamines, and minerals from.

    goveg.com might help

    P.S.

    vegans don't drink milk

  11. Milk can be good for you but if you drink too much you can get a Kidney Stone. And if you don't like milk drink soy milk, I reccomend Silk.

  12. Being a Vegan. is tuffer than I thing most people realize. It is with out a doubt healthy in the since that you are not getting fats from red meats. But you are also missing vital nutrients that red meats have an abundance of. although if you are knowledgeable you can manage to get them, it's just harder. Also if you are eating junk food while you are a practicing vegan. then you are negating the one real advantage.

So in short is healthy but challenging. Just read up on it and don't buy into everything you hear. Educate yourself and make an informed decision.

And yes milk is good for you.

PS: I am not a Vegan. but I have friends that are.

    Just my 2 cents
