  1. Anytime you are eating something containing un cooked egg.. there is a risk of salmonella.. especially for young and elderly... Most of us ate lots of uncooked egg growing up (remember l*****g the batter bowl or eating the batter?) but.. there is always a concern. :)

  2. Yes, it's totally fine. All of these are edible and safe.

  3. Yes, it's edible.  There's a question of salmonella, like there would be with anything containing raw eggs.

You can buy a product called meringue powder to make your royal icing with, and it's safe.  A lot of bakeries use it.  You can find it in the cake decorating aisle of the craft store.

Royal icing does dry rock hard, so while it's edible, and safe when made with meringue powder, it may be dangerous to your teeth.  Be careful if you bite it.

Food coloring is totally safe when added to food.

  4. Yes, and Yes!! Most eggs are completly safe. If you are making it yourself, some stores, usually health food stores, do sell pasturized eggs in the shell. or you could buy only the egg whites, like egg beaters.
