Question:

Eating a lot of fruit...bad?

I recently started eating more fruit and veggies. Granted, I am at college and it is hard to find healthy choices all the time. The cafe here serves fruit cups, which is a huge cup of fresh fruit. Is there such thing as eating too much fruit? I have started eating 2 fruit cups a day, one in the morning and one after dinner (instead of dessert). Someone told me that if you eat too much fruit it is not good for you. Is this true???

  1. fruit is awesome for you!

And two fruit cups a day is not to much.

It is not good to have like twelve fruit cups a day, but really, even that is better then eating two or three slices of cake.

  2. Nope, thats kinda dumb whoever said that. Its true fruit has sugar, but it also has lots of healthy nutrients in them, and the sugar is natural of course. I guess eating a slice of cake or some ice cream is alot healthier to whoever said that.

  3. As long as it's fresh fruit not covered in sugar syrup 2 cups is not too much.

  4. If you are using one of those fruit cups in place of dessert (and it is just fruit and nothing else) then it is good and healthier than a sugary dessert, so keep that up.

Try to get some good veggies in, too because fruit IS filled with sugar. Natural sugar is better than refined sugar (and fruit has nutrients), but it is still sugar.

Is the fruit cup all you have for breakfast, or do you get some protein, too? Try to get some lean protein with every meal.  :)

  5. Fruit is the best food for you. See site below. But if they are adding sugar water to your fruit cup, then that is terrible for you. http://thinner.notlong.com

Also unripe fruit is not good and usually they serve unripe honeydew and cantaloupe.
