Eating cherries?

I was in a place where there were a couple pof person . I notice a woman who had a bag of beautiful cherries and I start to eat them until the bag was empty ; then the woman said ;; you ate all my cherries ; and I said ; yes but I going to buy cherries for you at the store ; so I went to the store and ask for cherries and the lady said ;; we do not have any ; but look at this beautiful fruit cake ; and yes the cake was so beautiful that in real life I had never seen such a fruit cake ;; What does it mean PS In real life I am married for the last 42 yrs and have a stable life

This doesn't mean you are not happy or content in your marriage, but 99.99% of humans (maybe animals too, who knows) go through this time. its a metaphorical dream. cherries are one thing. cake is another. you can't replace cherries with cakes, and ckaes with cherries. once you've drained the bag of cherries, you're out. think what the metaphors mean in real life
