Eating disorder maybe? please help (=?

I have suffered from depression a couple of months ago and i have started to get obsessed with my weight. When i came back from hospital, i put on a lot of weight (the food in a mentally ill hospital is really fattening) and a lot of people commented on me putting weight on. I now only eat :

B: nothing

L: water and peanuts

D: soup

am i gonna lose weight fast by doing this? or am i just being stupid..throwing my self from one problem to another? I think its nice to be in control of my food intake when i cant seem to be able to control anything else...

please help :( im very confused

  1. The place that has the best reputation for losing weight safely and can answer all your questions is weight watchers and you can find all sorts of information about them online. Knowing your appropriate weight is calculated by many factors and you should not play around with something as serious as an eating disorder. If you suspect you may have one, you should seek to talk to a counselor at your school. They won't tell your parents unless you are a threat to yourself. Go for it.


  2. Weight loss is supposed to be achieved through diet and exorcise, not just extreme diet. If you really want to lose weight and you really think you have a weight problem, then get on a no junk food diet and start going to the gym if you don't already.

  3. when you say you want to be in control you should care about what you eat but i mean soup, water, and peanuts isn't really food. so eat what you want but just be cautious on whats to much.

  4. I think you are right to be concerned. What starts off as a feeling of control over your food by eating very little can quickly become a total loss of control as you spiral downward into an eating disorder. If you let this go on, the eating disorder will control you and that's not what you want. There is a questionaire on the link below.

    One of the best ways to learn how to eat healthy and still lose weight is Weight Watchers. It has been around forever because it works so well. Find a meeting near you and attend it. You'll learn how to eat healthy and get real control instead of a false feeling of control.

  6. You know you have a problem when you list water as a food.

    If you are worried about you weight, don't take it out on your body. You need more than that to maintain good health, girl. At this rate you aren't going to be losing weight, you are actually going to start wasting away muscle and storing every calorie you get into fat.

    What you need is a diet composed of normal foods in normal amounts. You remember this from school, right? Grains, Vegetables, Fruits, Proteins and Dairy.

    And if you are worried about the weight, add a regular exercise. Especially something fun that doesn't seem like exercise. Go swimming, go bicycling, learn a martial art, but don't starve yourself on soup and peanuts.  

  7. You are right, you are throwing yourself from one problem to possibly another. The problem with the way you are trying to lose weight is that as soon as you start eating "normal" again you will put the weight back on. The only healthy way to lose weight is to burn up more calories than you consume. Be smart and healthy about it.

  8. it's ok to be in control of your food intake, but it's not healthy to only eat water, soup, and peanuts. if you really want to lose weight, put yourself on a plan. crash dieting isn't healthy, and you really don't wanna end up in the hospital again.

  9. It sounds like you're on the verge of an eating disorder, which is definitely about control.  Maybe you should go to a therapist that specializes in these types of things.  You could see some great success.  Good luck!
