i think my younger sister has been throwing up her meals (when she does eat). if this is what she is doing how long before we start to notice her weight change, also is there any other signs that we should look for.

i believe she has been doing this for about two weeks. (she doesn't look like she is getting smaller)

  1. When you eat in balance your body realises it needs to process food quicker to keep up with your cravings.

Start off eating moderatly, speed the pace up a little. Squeeze the time inbetween meals. Keep doing it. speed it. keep it there.  your body will be able to digest and process quicker.

Not eating will only tell your body that you don't eat as much and it doesnt need to work as hard. And then, once you REALLY need to eat, like it becomes life threating, you'll eat more and suprise your body and you'll become even bloated. and you end up being fat instead of being normal and healthy if you would have kept eating.

  2. if shes throwing up than its more of a gradual weight change, you wont notice anything sudden.  signs you'd notice would probably be looking guilty after trips to the bathroom, having frequent sore throats, brushing her teeth a lot or mostly things to cover up what she's been doing.

depending on how close you are you could talk to her about it, but if you aren't that close chances are she wont tell you.

  3. this could be a serious problem. i would definitely tell your parents to keep an eye out on her, but not to confront her yet.

constantly compliment her and tell her you hope she would never change.

reasearch bulnemia and slip her some bad facts about it. like "that would SUCK if i _____, which could happen to someone whos bulnemic."

im so sorry to hear this, i hope she gets better!

    hope i helped :)

  4. Yes... if she is doing that its an eatting disorder... basically she thinks shes fat and needs to skinny-up for someone in particular... a boy maybe?

  5. i know that from reading life stories in magazines that dentists usually find out if  person has been throwing up other than that i think you just have to watch her weight loss and see if she behaves differently in any certain way.

  6. you should talk to her about it

  7. What she's doing to herself is wrecking her metabolism. She might be trying to lose weight this way. If she is, it will make her fatter in the end. But if you do see her weight begin to drop it's possible she has a legitimate case of bulimia.

  8. Sit her down and have an intervention with her. Talk to her and see whats going on and if shes willing to admit what shes doing get her some help.

  9. ofcourse she's g*y, if someone ate my lip i'd be mad too.
