  1. Top Forest Hills Eats - Danny Brown Wine Bar & Kitchen

    Best Pizza - Nick's Pizza

Best Breakfast - Just Like Mother's

Best Place for Uzbeki Kebabs, Galicky Fries, and Dubbed Soap Opera - Salut

Best Burgers, Fries, and Beer - PJ's Steakhouse (Top 4 Best Burgers in Forest Hills)

East Asian Restaurants - Chinese, Thai, and Japanese:

For dim sum, top choice is Golden Pond Seafood (113-15 Queens Blvd). It gets crowded on weekends.

Expensive Bann Thai (69-12 Austin St, 718-544-9999) won praise in the first ever Michelin Guide to New York City. Bangkok Cuisine (107-18 70th Rd, 718-261-4005) has a great location and neat design with so-so food. Q, A Thai Bistro (108-25 Ascan Ave, 718-261-6599) is fancy and pricey, but sloppy and not very spicy.

For Japanese, newcomer Ran (103-01 Metropolitan Ave, 718-897-6530) serves true Japanese-style sushi, not Korean, and you want to love it, but quality and staff attention wavers.

    Italian

Tutto Bene Restaurant (102-15 Metropolitan Ave)

When Forest Hills' own Ray Romano visits his home turf, Tutto Bene is his pick.

La Vigna Restaurant (100-11 Metropolitan Ave, 718-268-4264)

It's cute and the food tastes good, but the reason for the slow service? Our waitress said the chef/owner insists on cooking everything himself from start to finish.

    Steak

PJs Steakhouse (73-11 Yellowstone Blvd, Forest Hills, NY 11375, 718-544-5757)

PJs is all about focus and it's all on the meat. Upscale, polished, it turns out a fine steak. And the burger gets top honors, too.

    Mexican

    5 Burros (72-05 Austin St, 718-544-2984)

Get it? This crowded Mexican restaurant has a long wait and lively bar scene.

    Indian

    Baluchi's (113-30 Queens Blvd, 718-520-8600)

This NYC Indian chain had repeated issues with health inspectors in 2007. The high prices ($10+ for entrees) must have to do with the metal water cups and elaborate decorations.

  2. Aren't they all up and down 71st & Continental?  And over on Archer/Austin... (I Forget the spelling)  I haven't been to Forest Hills in Years...
