  4. Lamberts restaurant in Balham. Quality food - great knowledgable staff and a fantastic wine list.  It is impossible to resist having 3 courses in there as you know it will all taste fantastic. Added bonuses are that they know where the food is sourced from and its a non-smoking restaurant,

    China Town- Lisle & Gerrard Streets north of Leicester Sq. lots & lots of Chinese restaurants. New World for Dim sum, Imperial China for Cantonese:

    I recently ate at a newish Lebanese restaurant in Kensington Church Street called Randa. Two courses, mixed meze plus grilled kebab/dish of the day for £16.50 per head.

    You will also find great cheapish Thai food at the Churchill further up Kensington Church Street as well as Fullers real ales. There is also a very trendy Modern British restaurant at the north end of KCS called Kensington Place:

    For Turkish/Cypriot food you would work hard to find better value than the Tas restaurants near Waterloo and the British Museum:

    You are best to get local recommendations for local "caffs" and ggreasy spoons depending on what area your in. Local to me I could recommend Maureens Pie & Mash in Chrisp Street Market E14 :

  6. Le Pont De La Tour at Butlers Wharf, great place to eat and I have eaten there three times and had a famous person sat on the next table twice! Plus the food is great but a little expensive.

  8. New World (Dim Sum) in Soho - fantastic food where the waitresses come round with the food on trolleys and you pick what takes your fancy.

    Cheap and cheerful.

    OR If you want a good Indian go to the East End by Brick Lane and Aldgate/ Whitechapel.

  10. Momo in Heddon Street just off Regent Street is a Moroccan restaurant that I absolutely love.

    The food is amazing and a great atmosphere.

    Brilliant for both romantic nights out or to take business clients.

    Not cheap at about £30 per head.

    Indian restaurant / lounge at Lester square (not sure about the name) but it's pretty poshy

  12. Try Toffs fish and chip shop in Muswell Hill, eat in or out.  Food great, service great, quantity great ( refills of the chips if you finish them all!)  Staff lovely make my kids feel really special as we go every couple of weeks.

    Been voted best in country on a couple of occassions.
