I am having a weird problem lately when i go out to eat. I dont eat fast food or anything like that (since watching supersize me years ago) but everytime I have been out to restaurant in the past two months I get sick afterwards, its food poisoning type of problems. sometimes i get a fever and sometimes i just throw up sometimes it worse. Its happened about 5 times so far. I dont eat unhealthy food and each time has been at a different restaurant, sometimes its from a salad sometimes its from half a burger or so on? I eat out, then cut to a few hours later, i get extremely sick! What could be going on? Has anyone had this happen? Im fine when i eat at home or at peoples houses. But any take out or sit down dining makes me sick!

  1. oops  sorry  totally not what I thought--  gigidly .....

seriously though, thats odd--  especially with different restaurants--  watch what you order, try to order completely diferent items--  sometimes the salads can do it ( lettuce especially ),  types of fish  etc.   also, they use several different types of oils, peanut, soy, olive in many dishes that you may not realize-- even though the food you ordered has no olive oil, the spoon or bowl did have--    good luck

  2. You are probably just eating larger portions than you are used to and your stomach can't handle it. Next time you order food, ask the waitress to bring you a box with your dinner. Put half the food in the box before you even start eating. Take the rest home and eat it when you get hungry. Hopefully this helps.

  3. Well, if you don't eat out much then your body probably hasn't built up defenses to the bacterias found in the food at those places. Believe it or not, those restaurants aren't as clean as you might think, and the food handlers don't always do a good job or even care about how they handle the food. If you eat out a lot, then you can build up an immunity of sorts to a lot of the bacteria you are constantly exposed to, so it won't affect you as much or at all.

  4. It sounds like a mental thing.  I would stop eating out if I were you.  It has nothing to do with the food since it has happened at different places.

  5. Generally, restaurants and take-out places use much more oil and fatty acids than if you were to cook at home because they use the same pots all the time. It's possibly that you got used to eating such good foods that your stomach cannot handle the extra fats and oils. The only thing I would suggest is to deal with the sickness a few more times and hopefully you will get used to it again (that is, if you want to get used to eating crappy foods). If it continues to happen though after a few more times, you might want to see a dr. because it could end up being something worse and who knows, you might start getting sick eating food at home if it goes untreated.

  6. maybe the food has something that ur body isnt liking

  7. It probably has nothing to do with eating out itself, as much as the food your eating. It's probably a food allergy. When you cook at home, you probably are careful about what you eat/cook/put in your body. When you go out, you have no control over what you eat.

Analyze exactly what you ate, or what you may be ordering. They may be putting an ingredient in the food that you have an allergy to.

  8. Maybe you have developed a phobia of eating out?

I know  anxious people sometimes start sweating and being sick etc.

Maybe because of that show you watched you subconsciously expect to get sick from eating out and therefore it happens??

  9. Maybe you're bulemic.
