Eating out late?

This might be a silly question but I want to take my mother out for her birthday and today being Saturday night.. I don't feel like waiting an hour to get a table somewhere. I was thinking about taking her to Olive Garden.. is it best to go after 7.. does the wait die down by then? Do restaurants usually die down after 7 or 8?

  1. Not where I live............Olive Garden is great but every manner less twit I ever saw converges on that place....Your best bet is to go early early or late late.....Otherwise go to an expensive place where a percentage of the crazies are not going to go....

  2. depends which state you are in but where i am usually the resturants are busiest around 5:30 or so.  so i would say they should be quieter by 7 or 8.  have fun!

  3. They're usually pretty good moving the crowd and they'll be glad to seat you at the bar until a table is available.

  4. chain restaurants have a wait as late as 10 or even 11pm...  after 7-8pm diners slow down a bit though..
