  1. Apparently it can

  2. yeah i heard something like this too.

obviously theres somethin in em that

messes up the drug test. so incase your

going for one, i suggest you dont eat

poppy seeds before you get it haha ;]

  3. This is true - you can test positive for opiates.  I've had people test positive after eating a couple of poppy seed bagels for breakfast.  You have to let the testers know that you've had poppy seeds when you go to take the test.  This was even proven on Mythbusters.  Here's the info from their site:

Eating poppy seed bagels or poppy seed cake can cause one to test positive for heroin and/or opium on a drug test.

    confirmed

Heroin is a semi-synthetic opoid made from Morphine. If a test is sensitive enough it can generate a false positive simply by detecting the poppy seeds. Lawsuits have actually been filed and settled due to this phenomenon.

  4. A New Jersey prison guard told me this was true.

  5. TRUE

But not all poppies cause you to fail a drug test.

The only species that does this is the Opium Poppy

Poppy Soniferum. It's an favorite annual and is seen everywhere. You'll tell these poppy from others in the 4 petals

this is a fan pattern coming from the center and the flowers are huge compared to other annual poppies. Also it's illegal to grow them in Canada and is becoming illegal in many U.S  states to grow them.

Perennial poppies are all together huger and look more papery. Corn poppies are puny compared to the above species. You also can't fail a drug test if you eat poppy seed bread.

  6. Apparently so, especially if the test comes soon after eating the seeds. Modern test methods are extremely sensitive, which is why they should only be conducted by well-qualified people

  7. true but only if you eat a lot, like pounds of poppy seeds, its almost impossible
