Ok i put to Nokia phones on ebay and a seller viviancole0021 this person won both items, would like me to ship them to Nigeria. I responded to this saying i was not going to send them but would send them to a uk address. This morning i have received another email saying thanks and i have moved £114.00 across to your paypal account. Firstly this is not the full amount the full amount for the items was £162.00. Then i received an email from "paypal" saying they are holding fund for me and will be released once i give the tracking number to viviancole0021. I have tried reporting this to ebay and paypal with no luck from paypal and ebay have not responded. viviancole0021 is no longer an ebay user so do i have to sell the items to them? can i just re-list? This sounds 100% dodgy but i dont know if i can just ignore the fact he won as he is no longer registered.

I will post the emails i received in a mo!

I hope someone can help me.

  1. I had the same thing happen to me with a buyer from China.

Don't worry with ebay or paypal, full payment was never received so no items should be shipped. The worst they could do is give you negative feedback. But since they are no longer members they can't even do that.

Note for the future make sure to include

"UK postal only" in your advert. It stops them targeting you.

  2. hi don't accept the money from Nigeria just re list with UK sale only they are dodgy anyway you wont get any joy yet from eBay or pay pal if you search eBay forum their is a phone number to speak to some one at eBay i know its frustrating just relist

  3. Hi,

    please do not send,

    it is a scam.

If you send the phone you will not get paid.

Please go to ebay answers and questions,

and you will find all the information you need.

Report them for having a invalid address, then you will be able to relist your phone,

    and block selling to overseas,

that way it will only get sold to a buyer in the UK.

Good luck with selling to a good honest ebayer,

remember before you send your phone off, keep a copy of all the ime numbers, just in case you need them,

and always send recorded delivery for under £34,

or if over £34 special delivery,

that way a buyer can not say they have not recieved it.

And make sure it is insured properly, in case it gets lost in the post, then you can claim your money back.

  4. it is a scam

  5. Don't click any links in the emails you have received. Check your paypal account by going to the paypal site not by clicking links in the email. This sounds like a scam and if the buyer is no longer a user you are under no obligation to deal with them.

Forward a copy of your email from paypal to spoof@paypal.com they will confirm whether this is a genuine email or not.

    Good luck!

  6. It's a Scam.

  7. This is a scam, wait for eBay to contact you before you do anything else

  8. When selling electronics on ebay, you always get dodgy people contacting you for them, From Nigeria and malaysia and stuff. Never respond to them and most defeinetly do not send them anything.

On ebay, select from the drop down menu, non paying bidder and select, we decided to mutualy agree not to send.

On paypal, click refund the money to the buyer. of if the money is on hold, dont do anything and just relist the item on ebay and state UK BIDDERS ONLY.

it is your right as a seller, NOT to sell goods to a buyer, if you do not wish too.

  9. Whatever you do do not sign in to your account through the email you were sent - they are trying to get money from you.

  10. WARNING WARNING

Anything to do with Africa:  Nigeria or especially Ghana, is a SCAM!

    Don't go anywhere near there.

Send details to ebay of the buyer  and close the sale

  11. Dont post the item and await a responce from ebay. This sounds like a scam. Are you sure that the paypal e mails are genuine?...check your paypal account to see if a deposit has been made.

  12. It's a nigerian scam.= Avoid. I'm an eBay seller.

  13. Avoid ANYTHING that comes out of Nigeria. The scams coming from there are unreal. As the person is no longer a member, just put them back on the site. And state all enquiries from Africa, will have to provide Bank Details, and no shipment, until fully paid.

Here is one site that will help. There are others that actually help more.

Ebay and Paypal should be made to answer for the "no response"

  14. Hello,

Be careful, I heard on ebay/paypal that having funds transfered does not means you will have the money.

They was something like a clearance needed, so it makes it confusing: some people have been crooked thinking it was genuine but then paypal cancel and you lose!

I can not source my information, I dont remember where i saw that, maybe on paypal guidelines!

best here is to contact ebay and let them know...

  15. You are probally being scammed. go to the link below and find out more about ebay scams, better to be safe than sorry

  16. It was a scam!!! All emails that want you to post to Nigeria are scams. What you have to do is report both items as 'unpaid items' then when that has completed you will get a final value fee. So you can relist the phones for nothing.

Its annoying because you have to waste so much time and go through the processes. Make sure you report the scammer anyway, even if the buyer is unregistered.

  17. no you do not

open up a dispute with ebay to make sure you do not pay any fees

definately a scam I have never heard of paypal putting a hold on money until shipping info was provided

  18. Just don't give the tracking number and let viviancole0021 waste her time (not yours) in trying to resolve.

In the mean time, try to contact ebay. There is a help page and they should respond.

Chill. It's Viviancole who has lost out. Not you.

  19. If he is no longer a registered user then you have no obligation to sell him the item. A doubt eBay or PayPal will be much help, they don't seem to care about their customers getting ripped of - they know people will continue to use their services.

  20. This is a well known scam, go onto ebay answers and you will see the messages from other ebayers on the nigerian phone scam.

Whatever you do do not send them the phones.
