Ebay Vehical Shipping?

Has anyone ever had a vehical shipped to from Ebay? If so how long did it take and how much did it cost? No links please just regular anwsers.

It cost about $1200 to have a pickup shipped to me from Tennessee to Oregon, and I shipped a car I sold on eBay from Oregon to Maryland for about the same cost. That was a few years ago, and that was a good price at the time. Nowadays, fuel is more than double what it was then so it's going to cost more than that, depending on how far away it is.

Ebay doesn't ship vehicles, nor do they sell them.  If you buy a vehicle off ebay, you are simply buying a car you've never seen, from a person you've never met, and that person is not ebay.  Just make sure you've got that.

They used to have a shipper link on ebay motors where they recommended D.A.S.  I'm not sure if they still have the same kind of link.  I have used D.A.S. to ship a car I sold on ebay.  I think they're not the cheapest, but maybe pretty professional.  They picked the car up at my house.  I would have delivered it, but they didn't require that.  Dealing with them has nothing to do with ebay, obviously.

I sold my vehicle in Florida to Beverley Hills 90210. Cool huh?

The movie producer that bought my car (for his niece), had shipped cars before. He used a professional service. The service came out and inspected the vehicle for damage and filled out pages of paperwork  before they accepted it.

One question is whether the car is driven drive-able or trailered.

Another cost consideration is home pickup versus somewhere else. like city to city which is cheaper

I just did a sample cost on dependable auto shippers  and it came $675 to ship from Florida to California. Door to door service is $312. My estimate said 18 days.

So about a thousand bucks for door to door..Florida to California. That would be $675  city to city plus $312 for door to door both ends.  Expedited or guaranteed ship times cost more.  An enclosed trailer adds $394 to the cost.

There is a website where you can bid or get bids to ship cars...Car dealers use it.. The site is uship...This will add to the time it takes to get something shipped..but may save a few bucks.  It is interesting to look at uship.com/find to see the requests to ship stuff. People bid on your shipment and you contract with them. A lot riskier...make sure they got insurance or you do.

I looked into bidding for the heck of it..just to do a road trip..but the amount paid..did not exactly cover the trip, gas and hotels..plus you pay a finder fee for the bid..

Now if you or your friends want to transport yourself. Hertz has one way car rentals...and enterprise will pick you up. That might help with logistics.
