Question:

Ebay buyer didn't pay. options?

Recently had 2 items bought by this guy using the 'Buy it Now' feature.

He sent me an email a few days after saying he bought the items in "error".

According to ebay i can get the final value fee back but NOT the listing fee.

Frankly I just think the guy changed his mind and because of this he cost me money.

Should I bother raising a dispute since they can't force him to pay or just quit and lodge a mutual withdrawl?

Thanks

  1. Personally, I think that ebay should enforce a rule that if the person backs out of the sale, that they should have to pay for all fees associated with selling that item. It's very annoying when people back out like that. I thought that I read somewhere that if the winning bidder re-negs on purchasing the item, that it falls to the next bidder in line. You might want to check into that but of course, this doesn't apply when you're using the "buy it now" feature.

You can give them bad feedback but they will probably return the favor. If your insertion fees are under a dollar, I think that I would just let it go. It's not worth the hassle.

  2. Dispute, always dispute.

No one has the right to back out of a transaction contract. If everyone did that, ebay would be useless.

  3. It depends on the situation, if a buyer clicks Buy it Now.

Example, I click it buy it now and realize the item did not have enough information. I keep trying sending email to the seller but without any response. When I click on Buy it Now, the seller response

and give the item description that not even close to what it shows.

    What the buyer should do?

You should think both side, buyer and as well as seller

  4. it really depends on you. some sellers are heck bent on getting every dime that is theirs and file a dispute. some ppl dont have the time to worry about small fees. if it was a large fee i would dispute but if its not worth more than 5 minutes of your time let it go.
