Ebay issues: What is a USPS money order and as the recipient, how do I receive it?

Five days ago, I sold an item on eBay. For several days, no payment came through Paypal or the USPS. I emailed the seller several messages, but she did not respond. Finally, when I threatened to report her to ebay, she responded with the following: "I gave my payment to the post office so all you have to do is provide the tracking number and theyll send the payment to you."

I responded with,

" I do not understand. Did you MAIL the payment? If so, in what form - a money order, cashier's check, or personal check? I will NOT ship this item until it and the shipping is paid for. Please respond immediately or I will cancel this auction and report you to eBay. This has been the most difficult transaction I have ever experienced with a customer in my 5 years of selling. "

She responded with,

"ITS NOT THAT HARD! I DID MAIL THE PAYMENT, ITS A MONEY ORDER AND YOU HAVE TO PROVIDE THE TRACKING NUMBER SO THAT THEY WILL SHIP THE PAYMENT!

OMG"

Can anyone explain what she's saying?TY

  1. Sounds like she is trying to rip you off. The post office will provide her with a money order which she has to send to you. When you recieve it you still have a right to hold the shipment until the MO clears. She is wanting you to ship the package and will never pay for it. DO NOT ship it until you have the cash in hand.

  2. I agree with answerer #1.  The Post Office does not have a tracking number for the money order. The USPS does not ship payment to anyone. That was her responsibility. It sounds like a con. I say after a week, report her to eBay. But whatever you do, don't ship anything till you have the money.
