  1. you have it right. your maximun bid it the AMOUNT YOU WON'T GO OVER..so if YOUR max is 50 and the current high bid (which would be YOURS if you were the highest MAX bid) is 31. 50...and it stays that way you will get the item for 31.50

as you know people can easily out bid you by placing a higher max bid. thing is if you bid to high then the price goes up and you'll be paying more than you probably should. its a tricky thing to master i suppose

  2. The bid like, if you bid $100 and someone else bids $80 and the minimum increasement is $5, it will be 85, then if someone bids $120, then it will be $105

  3. Say you're buying a top. Before you bid, it's £5.

You bid £5.50, which is the current bid.

You can then add a higher bid, for example £10.

This is so if someone else comes and bids £6, they will be outbid straight away because yours is higher.

However, if she stops bidding, then the current bid will only be about £6.50, meaning that's all you pay.

It allows you to have a head up on the bidding.

I hope that wasn't too confusing

  4. When you bid, you are supposed to enter the maximum amount that you are willing to pay for the item.

The current bid is what the item is currently going for.  If someone else bids higher than that number, ebay will automatically bid on your behalf up to your maximum number.

  5. if the current bid of the item is $5, and the person who bid put a maximum of $7, then if you enter your maximum of $10, it will put your current bis as like $7.50 and if people bid like $8 or $8.50 it will automatically bid again for you up to yor maximum bid. If no one else bids you get the item for $7.50 even though you put your maximum as $10
