Ebay merchanting questions?

I've been an "Ebayer" for a few years now, but I've never made serious money out of it. In the summer I buy snow equipment (i.e: goggles, gloves, small stuff) and sell in November for a decent profit.

My friends are avid golfers, and over the past two years have merchanted over "$10,000 worth of golf...stuff." They deal with some big name brands and equipment, and just to give you an idea, a high school buddy of mine has over a dozen Nike Sumo Sq. drivers and hundreds of Titleist balls (over $8,000 worth of equipment.)

As golf season approaches, I want to get in on the business. They sell on different websites, but I am pretty confident in Ebay. I have about $500 I am willing to invest.

How should I start?

  1. You need to research what people are willing to pay for different used equipment.  Then just buy low and sell high.

  2. if you have a web site you have more chances to sell stuff because the ones that don't go on ebay to search.....

  3. Why don't you talk to your friends about this as they are the ones doing it successfully?

Also, amazon.com has outside sellers (kinda like ebay) - check into it as well.  More people probably shop Amazon than shop ebay.

  4. OK first off. You should research how much an item sells on eBay for. You can do this at this link http://search.ebay.ca/ws/search/AdvSearc...

view Completed listings only you can see roughly how much an items sells.

Now you have to decide what type of listings you would like use. Buy it now or auctions or open a ebay store, If you wont to open a ebay store you can slowly start listings items in there now.

I think you will be able to do it.  Just be smart about it it takes time like any other business.

I started with $100 invesment. Now I sell over 10,000.00 a month  I dont wont to say its easy but with ebay you do not have to advertise vary much If you use another website you WILL HAVE TO advertise.

What I do is in my packages I send out, I put a little card with another website that has my products.

good luck if you need any help you can contact me

  5. auction off something that you think is valuable, and then continue along those lines
