Ebay possible scam?

a lady purchased a ps3 from me today on ebay and asked if we would ship to indonesia to a client that she had a good encounter with. it surprised me because the auction ended at $610 and i only paid $540 most people would notice this. her rating is only 6 and has not recieved feedback within the last 12 months. one last thing when she is listed on my bidder history it says shes located in canada then you click on her profile and it says shes located in the united states then she wants it shipped to indonesia it just seems a little fishy. I was hoping you guys could help determine if it was a scam thanks

  1. This is all too common these days. Basically you don't listen to the buyer ever,  Always ship to shipping address from paypal or other payment method invoice  no matter what, because it must be documented.. Make sure you have sellers protection verified (not all countries and regions are covered by the Seller Protection Policy). I highly recommend contacting paypal or other payment method provider about this immediately, which you should have instead of asking here.

  2. I don't know that much, about ebay.

But with all the different information I would say it is a scam.

Can you report to ebay and have them investigate?

  3. Can't determine it, but it seems fishy, would not deal with her. I was ripped off from someone who shipped my stuff from Chyna and had no way of getting my money back or tracking the person down. Not worth it.

  4. Being an avid ebayer myself, in this situation because of her low 6 feedback rating, I would really question doing business with her. I would recommend getting payment via a verifiable source, ex paypal or money order before sending out the unit.

If they pay, great. That is what the feedback rating is for. When weird stuff comes up like this , I base my decision on the feedback score.

  5. Is she a verified buyer? Is she going to pay through pay pal? The scam is usually that they send you a cashiers check for more than the item is worth and ask you to return some of the money prior to it clearing (at least that was the scam put on me).

There is a chat room in e-bay that you could also ask power sellers what the normal scams are, just go to chat.  I do believe indonesia is one of the countries that is in question but am not sure.  What makes me think she may be legit is the fact that she has had her name for over 12 months, but it could still be a scam.

Just make sure you get the money cleared before shipping it and be clear to her that you will not ship it until the money has cleared.
