  1. no it means the highest bidder will get one and that the other four are already avalible to bid for in four seperate auctions

highest bidder always counts, there is no "highest bidders"

    its always the highest

this is a sale for one not five

if it was for five then he would say five ipods and have photos of all five together

  2. yup.

  3. I just about fell out of my chair when I saw some of your responses.  That is NOT a scam, that is called a dutch auction.  The people who are telling you it's a scam, or that they actually only have one Ipod are either not very smart or they're messing with you.

Of course, there's always a chance they only have one Ipod, but they wouldn't list 5 on purpose then.  Why would they pay the extra fees to list other 4?

Yes, the highest 5 bidders will each win an Ipod.  Or fewer bidders if someone wants more than one.

A dutch auction is one of the most misunderstood type of auction.  It can get complicated, so be careful.

I would suggest you don't ever put in a proxy bid for a dutch auction item.  A proxy bid is where you put in a higher bid so eBay can continue bidding on your behalf.  That's because if all 5 bidders put in high proxy bids, then it will drive up the price of the Ipods significantly.  It will take the lowest bid of the 5 and make that the current high bid.

When I list a dutch auction, I always hope that I'll get one person who wants all 5 and doesn't understand how it works.  If you were to put in a proxy bid for all of the items in a dutch auction, that bid would automatically become the high bid.  I discovered this the hard way, and in the last minutes of an auction you can't always retract your bid in time.

Another interesting thing, is if you bid on two of the Ipods, and you only happen to win one of them, you have the option to not purchase it.  If you don't get the quantity you want, the seller cannot make you buy the ones you did get, according to eBay's rules.  This is only in a dutch auction.

  4. YUP

  5. Watch it though the scammers are out in force! I reported one the other day and ebay took so long to take him off he'd already scammed at least three people out of £238 each!

  6. Yes

  7. no, the highest bidder will get one, pay by paypal and the rest will get an e-mail saying if you send me money then you can have one. 4 weeks later, £50 gone, no ipod and nothing you can do about it.

    Be afraid, Be very afraid

  8. Yes that's why it's an auction. lol.

  9. No it doesn't,it means if you win you can buy all 5 if you want,

the other four go back up for bidding with the other 200 he will have.

If you look in his other goods you will see other adverts worded the same as you are bidding on.

  10. Yes. They'll only go to the highest bidder.

  11. It does so don't forget to set your limit on the auto-bidder and stick to it.

  12. Its called a dutch auction. Dutch auctions are kind of funky. Basically the top 5 bidders get one at the price of the lowest bidding winner.

    Say:

    Bidder 1 bids $380

    Bidder 2 bids $375

    Bidder 3 Bids $375

    Bidder 4 Bids $370

    Bidder 5 Bids $365

All the bidders get one at $365.

    * Ok. Here is where things get funky. Lets say Bidder 2 wants one for himself and one for his wife. So, he bids on 2 of them rather than 1, Bidder 5 would not get one and Bidder 4 would be the lowest bidding winner, which means Bidders 1-4 would get it at $370 rather than $365

Remember to check out the seller's reputation. Very, very important.

  13. No the 5 highest bidder wont get it the highest bidder for this bid ur bidding wil get it not the second one and so on.

IF U R CONFUSED ASK THE SELLER

  14. Yes, that is exactly what it means. Good luck to you!

  15. That is what they call a Dutch Auction.  The top 5 bidders will get one!

    Good luck!!!
