Question

On ebay can the seller lower the date?

What i mean is if the bid ends on 7/4/07 can they lower the date to 7/1/07

It depends.  What you need to do is go to "revise item" then see if the option allows you to change the date.

yes it's possible to lower the date. but usually the standard days are 7 days

yes, but you have to do it within a specific time and it depends on if you have enough feed back too.

you can also cancel your item and relist for a shorter time DEPENDING ON YOUR SELLING STATUS..ie how long you have been selling, etc...

Yes you can you have to go to the item you're selling click change "something" or similar and there reduce the date and click save! but you can't do it 24 hours before your item ends!

A seller cannot revise an item once a bid has been placed, they can only add to the description (additions are tacked on to the very bottom of the auction page). That means no change in initial bid price, auction duration, title, or anything else.

If there are no bids on an item, sellers can make any changes they like, including shortening the duration of the auction.

Hello,

There are two ways that you can end you auction early.  The first is to go into My eBay and revise your listing, there is a section on that page that allows you to choose between 10, 7, 5, 3, and 1 day listings.  If you started with a 7 day listing and want to end 2 days earlier, switch it to a 5 day listing.

The other option is that you can sell to the high bidder at any point.  If your item has reached a price you are comfortable with selling it for, simply login to my eBay and end the auction and sell to the high bidder.  I would recommend the other option so that it at least ends like a normal auction, but depending on your time frame,  this is also an option.
