  1. well all you need to do is sign up on ebay. after you have an acount go on the home page. then click were it says sell.then in the place were it says list your item write your item in 3-5 words. Then after it will take you to a next page. were it says category. then a pick a category for your item. the rest you listen to the direction. also you dont have to give a credit card number. the easiest wasy is just to use paypal. I also suggest to put a picture people dont buy with out a picture. It is very rare if they do buy something with out a picture.

please pick me as best answer.

  2. It took me years to finally work up the courage to begin using eBay.  Then last fall I finally took the first step by actually signing up for an eBay account.  From there, I went over to PayPal and signed up for an account there.  PayPal allows you to deposit your eBay earnings directly into your bank account whenever you choose to do so.  It also attracts buyers to your listings because when they pay using PayPal, they are offered buyer protection (a type of insurance) and they can pay without revealing their credit card info.  When I first signed up to start selling on eBay, I spent an entire day learning about it.  eBay has a wonderful help index, as well a live chat support program if you have any questions.  I used that function very often back in the beginning!

The important thing to remember when selling on eBay is to be up front and honest about everything you are selling.  Your buyers will be happy, and you will build your positive feedback rating.  When you're doing your listings, be sure to specify your shipping and handling information.  This took me a while to get the hang of.  The handling wasn't my issue though; instead, it was the shipping.  I never knew how much to charge for shipping, and I never knew which shipping method to use, and I never knew to which countries I should offter to ship items to.  Decide all of that before you begin listing items.  If you need assistance with shipping methods, visit your local UPS, Fed Ex, and US Post Office (provided you're in the U.S.).  I quickly found out that I didn't like UPS (too expensive) and I don't like Fed Ex because it's very far from where I live, and you also have to buy packaging materials when using either of those methods as well.

Now I only ship using USPS shipping methods; primarily Priority Mail.  On one of my first "drop offs" at the post office, the clerk gave me a two very useful mailing tools.  One of them is a cardboard "thing" that is folded and on the inside there is a ruler and a couple of cut-outs that allow you to see whether your package (envelope) can be sent using First Class Mail or Parcel Post.  This is nice if you're planning to use padded envelopes for shipping smaller items.  The second thing he gave me was a booklet containg all of the shipping methods available through the USPS and the rates listings by weight.  Now I've got it almost memorized so I hardly ever have to consult either tool.

The reason I chose to use Priority Mail is because the USPS provides you with all of your packing materials, and item delivery time is only 2-3 business days.  Items weighing one pound or less cost $4.60 to ship, and the rates go up from there.  For my media materials (DVDs, video games, books, CDs) I use USPS Media Mail.  It's very inexpensive.  For this you have to provide the packaging materials, but these can be purchased fairly cheaply at Sam's Club or Wal-Mart.

One piece of advice...  If you're planning to sell a lot of items and a wide variety of items, it may be worth your while to purchase a digital scale.  This will enable you to charge adequate shipping to your buyers.  I'm still missing the mark on this and occassionally lose a bit of money from the sale because of it.  One of these days I'm going to break down and follow my own advice on this one!

  3. sign up for paypal, the people will never see any credit info.you buy and sell through paypal.and always make sure that the you send the item to the address paypal has on record for the buyer. Some people may ask you to send it to another address, this could be a fraud account.

  4. I would not suggest you to become a seller on eBay. The most important thing you need to know is: you are the last person who gets paid. First of all, you need to pay eBay insertion fee and final value fee. FVF only applies if your item is successfully sold. Second of all, you will be charge a PayPal transaction fee for payment processing service. Then you need to pay USPS, UPS, or DHL to deliver the item to the buyer. The left over amount minus your cost will be your profit.

Although eBay claim your item might be eligible for an insertion fee credit if your item didn’t sell or the winner didn’t honor the bid. However, you can only use it once. In order to be eligible for the insertion fee credit if your winner didn’t pay, you will need to first of all file an Unpaid Item dispute on the 8th day after the auction ended. Then you’ll have to wait another week for the winner to response. If the winner didn’t response, then you can relist your item and get your insertion fee credit when your item is sold the second time. However, if the Non Paying Bidder reply to eBay says they want to complete the transaction, then you’ll lose the eligibility EVEN THOUGH THEY STILL DON’T PAY YOU.

Remember, never ever use the “Sell Similar” feature even you have like 100 identical item because once you list your item through “Sell Similar”, you’re consider relisting your item and you are automatically not eligible for insertion fee credit. Tricky huh?

The most stressful part is their feedback system. Sometimes, there are sick people out there, they bid on your item just to mess around. Some even leave you a negative feedback just for fun. eBay will not do anything to remove it. Even though you think you’re undeserved, eBay will not remove it unless they are presented with a valid court order stating that the comment is slanderous, libelous, defamatory or otherwise illegal. eBay doesn't remove Feedback without a court order, even if a member believes it is retaliatory, false, unfair, or harmful to his or her name, character, or reputation.

But these are nothing compares to their new feedback policy starting in May 2008. Sellers are no long able to leave negative feedback for bidder. Sellers can only leave positive feedback. Yup! Even the winner doesn’t pay; you still cannot leave negative feedback to him or her. The seller will have no way to find out the credibility of the bidder.

Sometimes if eBay thinks your shipping charge is unreasonable, your listing will be canceled without prior notice.

My opinion is, don’t do it. It’s not worth the time since you don’t make much and it’s very stressful.
