hey. im selling a macbook on ebay for $1100. It retails for $1099 at apple. there's this guy that asked me if i could post it on ebay uk. he has a feedback score of 480 with 100% feedback.

but it still makes me suspicious. why does he want to buy something like that internationally if international shipping would make him spend alot more? and why do i have to list it on ebay uk? cant he buy it from ebay.com? thanks for your answers!

  1. It defies logic. He can buy from you here. May be he would love to see your listings in UK and make money.

  2. hmmm... that  is a bit fishy. dont sell to him.

  3. Very strange. Of course he can buy it on ebay.com - doesn't need to be listed on ebay UK. Do you think he doesn't realize that - although that would surprise me with a 480 score and 100% feedback.

Not only would he have to pay the high shipping and customs duty, you would have to list it twice - and thus pay additional $$ to ebay. Which doesn't work out in your favor. It doesn't sound to me like a scam, but why do this thing for him? There's no point.

I'd say follow your gut. I didn't do that one time on ebay and got burned pretty badly.

  4. Of course he can buy from ebay.com. He found it didn't he?

It's certainly odd....he'll have to pay customs duty on it, too.....

BTW How come you are charging a $ more than Apple and expecting to make a sale?

    Edit.

Ah! I see. Thanks for the update....

  5. He might be confusing dollars with pounds.

Or it could be a scam, he might not really be in the UK.

Scammers usually send spam to all ebay users with generic messages, which never describe the actual product, but that could change...
