  1. im a big ebaya but never had this problem. i know you can retract bids but im not sure if that counts for sold auctions.. what you should do is go to my ebay, then help then scroll down a little and there will be live help.. they are good, you can talk directly (typing of course) to one of there customer service people who know everything about ebay & they will be able to help you...

  2. As soon as you see "Nigeria" you can assume that the offer is fraudulent.  All eBay purchases or sales from Nigeria are fraud.  ALL of them.

You'll probably get an email that looks like a PayPal notification, but it's a fake.  Forward it to spoof@paypal.com so they're aware of it.

When I get scams like this, I like to request the buyer's phone number and give them a call.  "Hi, I'm _______, and I'm calling about the item you purchased from me on eBay."

Usually the response is something like "What the fudge?  I ain't bought nothin' on no eBay!"

So I tell them, "Oh reeeeally?  Aren't you Mr. _____ of Kansas?  Well someone using your account just bought my _________ and asked me to ship it to Nigeria.  Maybe you ought to contact eBay and report that your account is being used for fraud."

Sometimes eBay will cancel the item and refund your fees when the stolen account gets reported.  But if not, just report the item as unpaid after 7 days.

  3. You entered into a contract when you listed it.  You should not have allowed international buyers if you didn't want to ship it internationally.  There is no problem with shipping to Nigeria (at least no more so than to other countries).  Ship it via UPS or another international courier that uses tracking.  Insure it, you can purchase insurance from the carrier.  Require signature confirmation.  And above all else, don't accept a check, accept only USPS money order or PayPal.  Keep all evidence of the shipping and receipt confirmation for at least one year.
