Ebay sellers! If you mistakenly under-charge someone for shipping...

Do you ask them to pay the extra or let it go? I'm a seller and I've undercharged for shipping a few times. I just send an email and said I underestimated shipping a little bit- my mistake! (So they'll at least give me 5 stars for my shipping costs) but then I let it go because it was my fault. I just bought something and a seller sent me an email and said "I shipped your package but the shipping was $1.73 more than what I thought so can you pay the $1.73." Now, $1.73 is not a big deal, I was just curious if a lot of sellers do this....

  1. if that seller was professional they would have let it go especially if it was for so little.  if you are like me you base the fact that you are buying it with the cost of the item along with the shipping amount.  he or she should have just eaten up the cost.

  2. I think that is ridiculous a seller made you pay for his/her mistake and especially since it was such a small amount of money!

  3. I certainly wouldn't pay it.  It was the sellers mistake and he should eat the cost.  I also believe it is against policy to return and ask the buyer for more money.  Hope this helps.

  4. If you undercharge, then you absorb the difference.

  5. I've undercharged for shipping before, since it was my mistake I learned from it and paid the difference myself.

I would never ask a customer to fix my mistake.
