Ebay unpaid item alert

Question

I recently purchased an item for $50.00 on Ebay and I sent out a money order on July 24 and yesterday the seller claimed and unpaid item alert on me. The seller lives in WI and I live in CO, so the payment should be there by now right? Just curious as to what I should do and what will happen. Thanks.

tell them you sent the money order... cancel the money order and send a new one

You should have had used paypal you will loose ratings as a good bidder but don't stress just e-mail the seller and explain

Where did you get the money order?  Go back there and check to see if the money order was cashed.  And this is important...."YOU MUST RESPOND TO THE NON PAYMENT ALERT ON EBAY"...If you dont, Ebay will assume that you did not pay it, and will find you at fault.  But, if you speak up, then Ebay knows that maybe something went wrong that is nobody's fault.  But, if you find out that the money order was cashed, I would suggest you give this person a bad rating the minute all this is cleared up.  Dont give the bad rating now because if the situation is not cleared, Ebay will delete this bad rating, because it looks like you are lashing out at the seller.  You are protected because Ebay's rules have changed.  Sellers cant give buyers a bad rating.

You should contact the person if he/she has received the money order yet, or check your account if any money was taken out. If you still get a message that you didn't pay, chances are that you will get a negative feedback, and not get the item. And I suggest you make a paypal account so you don't have to go through this.

I have an eBay store, please contact the seller and communicate that it was sent.  After eBay sends you the notice, you have an additonal 7 days, but you MUST answer the inquiry.

Sellers cannot leave negative feedback, however the "strike" will be against you.

I also have a notice in my store that if you are sending a check or money order, I will make additonal time allowances, but I ask that you communicate this with me.  eBay takes their fees as soon as the item is sold.  So I end up paying the advertising costs as well as the final value fees.  If a customer doesn't pay and I don't notify eBay, I am out the money..
