Ecdl advanced question

I'm about to apply to do ecdl advanced at my local college but I'm unsure if its the best course to do as i don't know what the difference is between the other ecdl course, which i completed last year, including unit E, so i got a level 2 certificate for that. is ecdl advanced also a level 2 certificate?

the other courses that i was thinking of doing was either first certificate or national award but was told by the college today that they are now only available to full time students, so ecdl advanced is now my only option on a part time bases.

does any one know if there is any point in taking this course?

There are four ECDL Advanced qualifications and they are standalone qualifications.  Passing all four is supposed to be just about the equivalent of an A Level (Level 3) so this is a higher standard than the basic ECDL.
