When I play a dvd on my lap top ( A Toshiba Satellite) The dvd plays but there is an echo when playing. This doesn't happen when I play music or downloaded videos. I have reloaded windows media player, but this has made no difference.

This has only recently happened ( last 5 months) .

I have played around with the sound settings on my computer but this hasn't made any difference.

Can anyone help please?

  1. I'm guessing the Sound Card is either screwed up or the Driver is outdated.

    Right Click My Computer>Properties>Hardware>Device Manager

Look for your Sound Card and try to find an updated driver.

If that doesn't work, you may need a new one, unfortunately.

  2. There is a setting in your DVD software that causes this.  Go into set up and look at your audio set up.  Sorry I can't remember what it is exactly but it is in there somewhere.

    Good luck
