Eclipse 1st August 2008?

What time does this eclipse thing start? And how will we see it, we can't watch the sun all the time as it damages the eyes. I live in Cyprus, is there any chance I can see it? =)

You will see only a small partial eclipse there, about 5% of the Sun covered by the Moon.  It is a solar eclipse, where the Moon passes in front of the Sun.  The time of maximum eclipse there looks to be about  10:35 UTC, which I believe would be at about  1:35 PM Cyprus time.
