Question:

Eco-demolition? Energy production?

Is anyone working on means to recapture the energy that goes into building large structures like setting up a hoist attached to a generator that would be powered by demolition materials lowered to the ground? Seems like an awful lot of energy is just wasted and not recaptured that went into the original construction. Same thing goes for felling trees...how much energy could be derived from a system of running a generator that is hooked up to cables and falling trees. Watching the Ax Men series and controlled demolition got me thinking of it. Maybe I'm onto a new source of energy?

  1. HI PAUL

YOU HAVE A VERY INTERESTING QUESTION, BUT I AM AFRAID I CAN'T ANSWER IT.  I AM STILL SHOCKED ABOUT THE DROUGHT AND HI GAS PRICES.  SORRY

  2. It's creative but would take more energy to set up tha would be gained.  There are also massive safetly issues with this.  Demolition wouldn't be cost effective this way in any case as it would take too much labor to capture each load.  The energy gained wouldn't be effective in terms of a cost-benfit analysis.
