I want to know how do vegetarians think they will survive if the global econoomy collapses and everyone has to live of nature, I mean, will you revert back to animal products or will you try and grow your own food, or what. This is a hypothetical question and no offence is intended.

  1. When I get my own house, I will most likely grow my own veggies and possibly fruit, but I'm a tad bit concerned about the run off water from fertilizer and the like that goes to the ocean.

I'm not exactly sure what I'll do in this economic crisis but I will most likely grow my own food.

  2. Yes.Up in Delano California back in the early 80`s when things got pretty rough ,their were lots of people growing veggies in their yards instead of lawn. When times are tough the tough get growing.

  3. You can feed yourself on grains and beans, though fuel might make it too expensive to cook them.

  4. I already started growing my own vegetables  a year and half ago.  I've just recently started sprouting my  own legumes indoors also.  Once your produce has yielded you can blanch your crops and freeze them for later.  This is how some folks survived the great depression. A lot of them canned a lot of stuff too seasons before the depression as they saw the signs.  I would rather eat frozen home-grown veggies, grains, and  legumes out of bags though because of the lead and residue and bensiphol that you have to worry about with cans.

  5. It will be easier to be a vegetarian. I can dig up my lawn and grow my dinner.
